Magnus Lindeborg - Drums
Magnus was born in 1971 and raised in Västerås, Sweden. His interest in music began when he made his mom crazy because he always tore up pots when he was young and beat on them. His sister always played music on her stereo; she liked to play guitar and sing, mostly for herself but also for Magnus, and it captured him.
When he was about 12 years old he got a tape from his friend of a group called Rush. It was then that his interest in music began in earnest. He became fascinated by the complexity of the music, the bass lines and drums were absolutely magical. He thought the bass was a cool instrument so he bought a bass guitar and began to practice.
He spent many hours in the schools music room but then realized that beating the drums was more fun. So he sold the bass and bought his first drum set. The neighbors were not too happy about the noise.
In school, he started to play with a guitarist and singer and they formed a band. After a few name changes they settled for the name Naked Lunch. They rehearsed in a house where he also met Stefan and did some jam sessions in the 80's. From the beginning they played hard rock, like most bands in the mid 80's did, but after a while they started to play more Southern rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd.
“We played together until '97 when we put down the instruments. With three small children, a wife, a house and job, I felt there was not enough time to play in a band”, Magnus says.
In 2005 he came in contact with a cover band that he started to play with but it was only for a short while. A few years later he started playing with a band called Seven. He lived next door to Stefan, who had not yet picked up a bass. Seven wanted two guitarists but had difficulty finding one, so the bassist said he was willing to play guitar if they found a new bass player.
When Magnus played in Seven, Stefan asked if he wanted to play drums in a band that was to play a band competition between local companies. It went pretty well for the band and was also very fun. After that Magnus asked Stefan if he wanted to be the bass player in Seven and he did.
They later took Dan on guitar when they replaced one of the guitarists. But the band Seven went in different directions and it led to Dan, Stefan and Magnus forming Sonic State Capital in May 2013.
